What The Season Now?
Injuries.
We’re ‘safe’, with 15 games still to go.
No cups.
A wafer thin squad, the owners wouldn’t want European football as it’ll be too costly for them.

I’ve had this sort end of season feeling in us the last few games. They may be knackered after the recent good run we had, even Rice though has gone ‘off the boil’.

This position at this stage of the season is our owners delight, who have no ambition. Job done for them!

So not expecting very much, but hope to be proved wrong.

Be our luck we get in champions league but can’t travel to watch the games due to covid

We should go for top 6
Mainly because I put a bet on that and I’m sure Moyes and the squad would not want me to lose a fiver.

over 200 minutes without a goal

Re: What The Season Now?
It's almost the same as the last season at Upton Park*, they needed to sign a striker as back up for Sakho, but didn't. Sakho got injured, Carroll came in, and was too static to run the channels to give Payet & Lanzini the space they needed.

*This year they actually sold the current version of Andy Carroll for £20m and left us with only one very injury prone 30yr old. Negligence, incompetence etc etc any of those words - just not sure whether it should be aimed at Moyes or Sullivan on this occasion.

7th gets you about £28m.
8th £25m
9th £21m
10th gets you £16m
17th gets you £9m

Middle of February, safe from relegation, out of the cups and nothing to play for.

Job done as far as our shareholders are concerned.

What's the difference in prize money for finishing 7th and prize money for finishing 17th?

when it comes to the big clubs, moyes is more likely to powder their noses. he makes up for it on the table by putting away the dross, but some matches are worth more than 3 points.

Re: What The Season Now?
We will never win anything with these owners, or Manager for that point. Europe is also pointless given our attitude to cups, which it essentially is.

Mid table mediocrity is about our level, occasionally giving one of the big boys a bloody nose, and flirting with relegation. All which could have been achieved without the move.

Nothing to play for now. We'll be 10th or 11th.

Cheers Moyes you cunt.

Re: What The Season Now?
I think anything above 8th would be a good season. I just want to see us continue to look like a team. At times over the last few seasons we haven’t even managed that.

Re: What The Season Now?
10th before start of season would have been dreamland.

10th now, as you say would be huge disappointment and will highlight once again the mismanagement.

European football next year would be great on the one hand, but with our owners would be a worry.

Also with our manager it seems a bit pointless

Re: What The Season Now?
I think we have to be happy with a top half finish, but 10th will seem like a disappointment considering where we were 4th just before the transfer window shut.

It'll definitely feel a case of "what could have been".

Re: What The Season Now?
My money would be 9-11th with Arsenal, Spurs, Everton finishing above with possibly Villa and/or Leeds

Our owners will be over the moon with that

6-8th continue to play the tempo and entertaining way we can.

Show we are somewhere to come to get games if you apply yourself (To strikers)

Who would have thought we would be in this position at this stage of the season ?
After the opening defeat to Newcastle we all thought here we go FFS ! but it's been brilliant with some nice football to boot but sadly S&G have not taken advantage to our tremendous start by not dipping in their pockets this will always be the case with these two cnuts let's just keep hoping we get a football loving new owner sooner than later.

Re: What The Season Now?
Yesterday should have been our absolute priority ... rest against Fulham and an absolute full strength team at Old Trafford

There IS a feeling of season over and that we will hit the wall
We are safe but lack the squad depth plus have zero strikers.
Antonio has started 16, 22 & 19 Premier league seasons. He has started 13 so maybe has 5 to 7 in the tank.
Rice & Soucek have been constants but after the short preseason turnaround and the Euros in June they will be knackered by then if not for the start of the next season.

In reality we have at least half a dozen passengers in our squad who need to be moved on but given we are probably 3 or 4 players at least short of a workable squad at the moment do we really think these owners are going to bring in 9 or 10 players.
Especially as it looks like we dont have any young players coming up from the u23's bar Ben Johnson.

The obvious priority for the rest of the season is #GSB OUT

Re: What The Season Now?
Someone on here suggested we were "sitting pretty in 5th" as an excuse not to get a striker in the other day on here.

I didn't have the heart to destroy their hopes.
